Federal Passenger Company to buy 5,000 new rail cars in 2018
SOCHI, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Passenger Company, a unit of Russian Railways, plans to sign a contract to buy 5,000 new rail cars until the end of 2018, CEO Pyotr Ivanov told reporters on Wednesday.
When asked about when the company plans to sign the contract, he said, “Until the end of the year.”
“Speaking of investment in rolling stock, we plan to spend 237 billion rubles on the purchases in general to buy new rolling stock until 2025,” he said, adding that the company will buy rail cars from national producers.
The company plans to raise money for the contract at an open market, he added.
